Gov. Matt Bevin has appointed four non-voting, non-member advisers to the Kentucky Board of Education, according to a press release issued Monday evening.

The move comes just days after Bevin signed an executive order restructuring various education-related boards and councils in the Commonwealth.

The four new advisers are:

  • Tracey Cusick, a parent of 10 children from Union, Kentucky.
  • Kathy Gornik, co-founder and president of THIEL Audio and chairman of Newton’s Attic, a non-profit organization that encourages children to pursue engineering, robotics and physics.
  • Wayne Lewis, executive director of education policy and programs for the Kentucky Education and Workplace Development Cabinet. Lewis is also an associate professor of Educational Leadership at the University of Kentucky.
  • Joe Papalia, a Louisville entrepreneur and executive with engineering, manufacturing and sales experience.
