Voter turnout for Tuesday’s Kentucky primary election was 23.54%. That’s according to the Secretary of State’s website with all counties reporting.

Out of more than 3.3 million registered voters, the total number of ballots cast was 792,688.

Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes had projected a voter turnout of 30% or less.

The State Board of Elections will meet to certify vote totals on June 5 at 9 a.m. Eastern Time.

The deadline to request a recanvass is by May 29 at 4 p.m. local time. Requested recanvasses will be conducted on May 31 at 9 a.m. local time.
