LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 25, 2018) – Norton Healthcare ranks No. 4 on the 2018 list of Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America by Healthiest Employers, a national leader in employee health analytics, best practices and benchmark data. The organization moved up two spots from No. 6 on the highly selective list.

The Louisville-based not-for-profit system includes five Louisville hospitals with 1,837 licensed beds; seven outpatient centers; 14 Norton Immediate Care Centers; more than 14,000 employees; more than 900 employed medical providers; and approximately 2,000 total physicians on its medical staff.

The hospital and health care system is the Louisville area’s fifth largest employer, providing care at more than 250 locations throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

The rankings are based on a process that recognizes employers for exceptional leadership in using wellness to promote workplace productivity and community well-being. For the Healthiest 100 list, organizations’ wellness programs were measured using six key categories: leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing, programming and interventions, and reporting and analysis.

The Norton Healthcare N Good Health program drives employee wellness through programming, health improvement initiatives and preventive health care.

Norton Healthcare hospitals provide inpatient and outpatient general care as well as specialty care including heart, neuroscience, cancer, orthopedic, women’s and pediatric services. Its research program provides access to clinical trials in a multitude of areas.
