LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A former Navy combat veteran and retired astronaut came to Kentucky to campaign for another veteran, Amy McGrath.
Mark Kelly hosted a roundtable discussion on veterans’ issues and gun violence as part of the stop.
He discussed veteran suicides, and argued that the best way to support veterans is to elect one.
“People that have served in the military tend to be problem solvers, Kelly said. “… So gabby and I are proud to travel around the country to get veterans elected into the House of Representatives.”
McGrath, a democrat, is running against incumbent Rep. Andy Barr, a republican.
